Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Australia is proud to celebrate the success of the Steggles Charity Chook 2025 campaign. Throughout July, Australians helped turn family dinners into something meaningful, with 30 cents from every specially marked Steggles Charity Chook sold at Woolworths going to children’s charities across the country, including RMHC.
Everyday Meals, Extraordinary Impact
At a time when many Australians are looking for practical ways to give back, the Charity Chook made it simple to support families with children who are ill or injured. Each purchase contributed to vital accommodation, meals and care for families during their toughest moments.
Stories at the Heart
One of the most memorable parts of the campaign was the packaging itself. Steggles partnered with illustrator Daniel Gray-Barnett to create heartfelt artwork inspired by three families who have stayed at Ronald McDonald Houses:
- Savi’s family, supported for 10 months at RMHC South East Queensland during her life-saving treatment as a baby.
- Henry’s family, who stayed across Orange, Newcastle and Westmead while he faced the challenges of extreme prematurity.
- Haisley’s family, who relied on RMHC Westmead for ongoing stays during specialist treatment.

These illustrations not only brightened supermarket shelves but also shared powerful stories of resilience, love and the importance of community support.
A Partnership Built on Care
The Charity Chook builds on Steggles’ long-standing commitment to families through its Charity Nest program, which has raised more than $15 million to date to support children’s charities in Australia.
As RMHC Australia CEO, Barbara Ryan, said:
“Our partnership with Steggles brings our values to life, providing meaningful support when families need it most. Seeing the stories of Savi, Henry and Haisley on the Charity Chook packaging was a powerful reminder of the difference community support can make.”
Our Thanks
On behalf of families across Australia, we say thank you to Steggles. Your generosity and commitment have provided comfort, care and connection to thousands of families when they needed it most.
Because even the smallest act, like choosing dinner, can make a world of difference.
