CHILDREN’S WARD GOLD COAST UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland Family Room Program opened its doors on the Children’s Ward at the Gold Coast University Hospital early in 2014, welcoming families with a sick child or baby on the unit.
Our Family Rooms provide a much needed retreat from the clinical environment for families with a sick child or baby receiving treatment on the Children’s Ward or Critical Care Children’s Unit at the Gold Coast University Hospital in Southport.
Providing a warm nautical-themed welcoming environment for families to take some time out: relax, watch some TV or meet with other parents; a small play area for visiting siblings; internet and printing access;, a beverage bay with complimentary tea & coffee; shower facilities with toiletry packs for resident parents; laundry facilities. This warm welcome is provided by our volunteers 7 days a week, up to 12 hours a day.
Children under 18 years must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times.
